ADULT CHURCH CLASSES

The 10 o’clock classes offered on Sunday mornings are a growing and vibrant way to meet and connect with other believers at St. Paul. There are a number of adult classes that cover a wide range of topics designed to deepen your faith and discipleship. You do not need to be a member of St. Paul to attend any of the classes and are always welcome to pay them a visit. Don’t see anything that piques your interest below? Let us know! Contact the church office with information about what you’d like to study.

FELLOWSHIP CLASS

This fellowship-based class reaches to the heart of what it means to follow Christ by lifting one another up in prayer and support. Led by Randi Miller, we welcome all adults, young or otherwise, to join us as we spend time together listening and supporting one another and studying God’s Word.

Currently, we are doing an in-depth study of the minor prophets of the Old Testament.

We meet in room B5 and would love for you to join us in study and fellowship!

NO BOOK, OTHER THAN A BIBLE, IS NEEDED.

GATHERING CLASS

Using a continual study called The Wired Word, this class applies study and scripture to current events. Led by Lee Carmichael, lessons deal with a topic that has been in the news over the past 2 to 10 days. Whether it’s the hostility in the current U.S. election or the European dilemma over Syrian refugees, the topics are varied and relevant and always have scripture to help us add a Christian perspective to important events or even little-known news stories in the world.

Here is an excerpt from The Wired Word website:

“Bring your lessons and discussions to life … and make them more relevant to modern Christian living … with The Wired Word — the easy, automatic way to weave current events into your weekly Bible studies.

With The Wired Word, you’ll have everything you need to link the latest headlines to appropriate Scripture.

Each weekly installment includes biblical commentary and discussion questions related to a topic in the news that week — sometimes even the same day! Finally, you’ll have a simple way to . . .

· Relate current events to relevant Scripture passages.

· Encourage group dialogue on how the verses covered each week apply to everyday life.

· Engage group members with thought-provoking, stimulating discussions on the messages contained in the biblical texts covered each week.

Perfect for adult Sunday school classes, discipleship classes, membership classes, cell groups, Bible education classes, home Bible studies, mentor relationships, other adult church groups — anywhere you want to apply biblical truths to today’s culture.”

We meet in room B4 and welcome anyone to join in our discussion of bringing Christ into the 21st century.

COFFEE SHOP CLASS

All are welcome to join us in the fellowship of the Coffee Shop Class! We are a group made up of all ages sharing in the reading and conversation about God’s word as well as how it applies to our lives today.

Activity and discussion in the class is natural and open to each person’s comfort and willingness to participate. We know that each of us are at various places in our faith journey and we know that the more we look at God’s word, the more we all grow in our faith. Tony Butz leads the discussion regarding the passages being studied and leadership of the class develops from the conversation.

Class always begins with a time of sharing and prayer. Being a faith community is just as important as the word being discussed. We have started to read The Battle Plan for Prayerby Stephen and Alex Kendrick. You may download this title free from the Monroe County Public Library. After that, we will be reading Unshaken by Crawford W. Lovitts Jr.

The Coffee Shop Class would be delighted to have you visit and welcome you to join them in room M12.
